You can only access your enrolment confirmation letter and (if eligible) your council tax exemption certificate online until the end of July, so we recommend downloading them as soon as possible if you haven’t already. You may be asked to provide these documents to employers, local councils or landlords after this date.

Chester Students’ Union has launched a new survey, and we want to hear what you really think - what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’d like to see more of. Your feedback will help shape future improvements, events, opportunities, and student support at Chester Students’ Union.

Comedian, writer and broadcaster, David Baddiel has been announced as the newest addition to the Chester Festival of Ideas programme, as part of the biggest-ever line-up of more than 100 free events. 

Bookings are now open, with all the event details available, for the eagerly anticipated, four-day summer festival organised by the University with partners. 

While all events are free to attend and walk-ins are welcome, people are encouraged to book in advance (other than for drop-in activities).

Congratulations to alumni Kyle Richardson-Nickle and Liam Pickering, whose band Passionflower has secured a record deal with Marshall Records and management from Future History Management, known for working with major acts including Sleep Token and Bullet For My Valentine. 

Passionflower was named the winner of Kerrang! Radio’s The Deal, a competition offering emerging artists the opportunity to take a significant step in their music careers. 

As part of the prize, the band will also perform at the iconic Download Festival, hosted at Donington Park in mid-June.

A number of Chester’s leading organisations are taking part in an ambitious new project to help define how the city presents itself to the world – and they are calling on residents, businesses, workers and students to help shape Chester’s future story. 

A new city-wide survey is now open, giving people the chance to share their views on Chester, what makes it special, and what its future should look like. Everyone who completes the survey before Friday 12th June will be entered into a prize draw to win a bundle of gift vouchers and tickets to the Chester’s top attractions worth over £400:

Just Cook sessions 

• Mondays 
• 4pm-6pm 
• Community Hub, Exton Park

This is an opportunity to join other students and learn or practice your cooking skills. The sessions will be led by Bread Together, a grassroots bread-making co-operative. We’ll cook together a simple, nutritious meal from scratch to eat together. All ingredients are provided.   

Please only book in for one session (spaces are limited to 10 students per session).

Bread-making visits at a micro-bakery

This is a hands‑on bread-making session at a Chester-based micro-bakery, a short walk away from Exton Park, where participants learn to make bread or practice their bread-making skills.   

Please only book in for one session (spaces limited to five students per session).

This event will showcase the history of the University from its opening in 1839 to the present day. We will present 15 objects from across the decades and discuss how each of them relates to an important event in the University’s history. 

These workshops and webinars are an opportunity to work alongside other students to develop a range of academic skills.  

The sessions are led by one of our ASk advisers with opportunities to interact and share your ideas and experiences.
