Alumni Success Story – The Doghouse Café |
|
Two University of Chester alumni, Rebecca Howell and Sam Walsh, have opened up a new dog café in Chester. Rebecca and Sam met while at university and wanted to provide a place for those who might be missing their own pets while away at university and anyone else that simply wanted to spend more time with some friendly dogs.
We caught up with Rebecca to find out more about The Doghouse Café and you can read all about it on our alumni blog here.
The Doghouse Café is located on Godstall Lane so be sure to visit with your dog companion and keep an eye out for exciting updates on their plans for the future!

Anxiety-free news: Chester Lego display moves into new market |
|
|
A popular feature of the old Chester Market was the Lego display of Chester in miniature. This amazing display has now moved into its new home at Chester’s new market, housed in specially built cabinets located next to the MRKT Café. A few new additions have even been added with the move.
Created by the popular blog and twitter account S**tChester, the display will also be raising money for charity. A contactless payment terminal has been set up next to the display, donations will be distributed between Chester charities; Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH), Share and Soul Kitchen. It joins a contactless donation scheme aiming to put an end to homelessness in Chester, hosted by the The Chester Bluecoat Charity.
Be sure to stop by for a visit next time you are near the market and see what residents and landmarks of Chester you can spot!
Read more about the display and its creator here.
